Concept
The ASL typeface was inspired by my second degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting. It has been a life long passion to become fluent in another language and it just so happens I stumbled upon ASL. My love for the language, culture and typography is combined in this version of the ASL Font alphabet. The traditional ASL font is just the ASL hand shapes alone but I wanted to create a font that incorporates both hand shapes and their correspond English letter. This would reflect an inclusive way to bridge both worlds and both languages in efforts educate those interested in learning ASL!
